ANNOUNCE: EMWAC IMS 0.8x for Windows NT 3.51 available

This message is to announce the availability of a new beta version of the EMWAC Internet MAIL Services (IMS) for Windows NT 3.51. This is a collection of services for Windows NT which implement mail-related features. THE EMWAC IMS supports Internet standards SMTP and POP3, plus mailing list.

In this version, the EMWAC IMS for Windows NT contains three NT services: the POP3 Server (POP3S), the SMTP Receiver Service (SMTPRS), the SMTP Delivery Service (SMTPDS), and the EMWAC IMS Control Panel Applet (IMS.CPL) plus a DLL containing common code (IMSCMN.DLL).

The EMWAC IMS requires NT 3.51 or higher.

All these online html files are zipped into a single file, you can download this ZIP file to read them locally.

• Bug fix for the template %HOME%\INETMAIL\INBOX.
• Mailboxes on FAT partitions are okey now.

• Bug fix for another memory leakage.

Features in 0.82 for POP3S

• Bug fix in POP3S for USER and PASS command authentication.

Features in 0.81 for POP3S and SMTPDS

• Bug fix for memory leakage with Event log "malloc fail point 3" from POP3S. This should fix the problem that the POP3S stops working after a few hours, or days depending on the mail traffic.
• POP3S gives +OK response for USER command all the time, security consideration.
• Get rid of the message "Warning: Socket I/O failed (64)"
• Bug fix for the message "Warning: Socket I/O failed (38)"
• Another bug fix for SMTPDS taking 100% of CPU

• POP3S now works fine with Eudora Pro 2.x and Netscape Navigator 2.0
• Bug fix for POP3S crash at 0x0040a36e.
• Bug fix for POP3S crash at 0x0040244e.
• Bug fix for POP3S malloc failed just after StartProtocol
• Page List GUI has been changed
• Bug fix for SMTPDS taking 100% of CPU
• The EMWAC IMS Control Apllet does not require CTL3D32.DLL
• Various bug fixes for SMTPDS and SMTPRS

• Bug fix for the page Aliases Registry loop in the EMWAC IMS Control Panel.
