This is a hypertext manual describing the Internet Mail Services. You should read it if you plan to install, operate, manage or deinstall the IMS software. This manual assumes you have a reasonable degree of competence in the use of Windows NT, and are familiar with Internet mail and the function of the SMTP and POP3 protocols. But the knowledge of the SMTP and POP3 protocols is not essential.
We have set up a list called <IMSUsers@tweed.emwac.ed.ac.uk>. The list is an unmoderated list for discussions of bugs, problems, and enhancements regarding EMWAC IMS.
You can join this list by sending "JOIN" as the message body to

There is another receive-only mailing list <ims-announce@tweed.emwac.ed.ac.uk>
for the IMS development team to make announcements of bug alerts, new releases,

sent back by the lists. You need this email address to post messages to
the lists or leave the lists, ie, you must supply From: field with the
address you have used for the subscription.
This software is in beta test. Please send suggestions, bug reports to
the IMSUsers mailing list with IMS
0.80 BUG in the Subject: line and send suggestions to the
same address with IMS 0.80 SUGGESTION in the Subject: line.
